NigComSat’s spokesman and Head of Public Affairs, Adamu Idris, said: “The Ka-band will offer an advanced satellite system affordable to Nigerians most especially at the rural communities. For a start, we are working with our partners, One Network and Clear Sky Broadband to provide Ka-band services to Nigeria’s postal service.”
He stated that the Ka- band services would indeed revolutionize satellite broadband services and make them more affordable and accessible to small business owners and consumers.
“Once NigComSat rolls out at the launch, Nigerians can reach out to any of our partners to get improved services at minimal rates. Our Ka-band satellite covers the entire West African region”
Before its introduction by NigComSat, Nigerians who used the Ka-band satellite broadband services have had to pay exorbitant fees to private service providers located in Europe and Asia, including other parts of the world for services that can be provided at a lower and much more affordable rates if provided locally.
Idris further added that the launch tagged ‘’Promoting financial inclusion and opportunity through Ka-Band utilisation’’ will hold tomorrow and chaired by the Hon Minister of Communication Technology, Mrs. Omobola Johnson.
