The Kwara State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association on Friday described the certification of the country as Ebola-free by the World Health Organisation as a good development.
The association urged Nigerians and government at all levels to continue to adhere to Ebola safety measures.
The NMA Chairman, Dr. Ayinla Abubakar, said during a media briefing in Ilorin to mark the 2014 Physicians’ Week that the Ebola-free certification feat was a demonstration that Nigerians are capable of addressing their challenges.
Abubakar, who was represented by Dr. Olawale Musbau, said the certification was achieved through exceptional commitment of government to stamp out the deadly disease in the country and the resolve by the medical practitioners to lead the challenge.
He claimed that NMA was supportive of its member’s commitment in ensuring critical analysis of government’s actions.
