#iPGN: Airtel leadership training

Telecommunications firm, Airtel Nigeria, has collaborated with Gemstone Group on a tour of tertiary institutions across the country aimed at constructively engaging and motivating students towards leadership development.

The company, in a statement on Thursday, said the move was part of its commitment to create a promising future for the next generation of young leaders.

The tour tagged “Deliver the Future” will cover eight Nigerian tertiary institutions between October 2014 and June 2015, according to the statement.

The Founder, Gemstone Group, Mr. Fela Durotoye, will feature as one of the motivational speakers for the tour.

According to the telecoms firm, students in the eight campuses will be motivated with a series of energetic, engaging and exciting activities aimed at inspiring them with exemplary values required to achieve personal success and ultimately transform Nigeria into a most desirable nation to live in.

The firm’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Maurice Newa, described Airtel as a youth-centric telecoms organisation which gives priority to the needs of Nigerian youths and supports them to achieve their dreams.

He said, “Airtel Nigeria, through the “Deliver the Future” programme, has identified the timely need to re-orientate Nigerian youth because they are the future of this country. The initiative provides them a rare opportunity to gain knowledge and wisdom from the activities and the motivational speakers.

“It is practical that as forward-thinking individuals and organisation, we need to encourage and motivate our future leaders in preparing them for the task ahead.”
