NEW President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has said his administration will work to improve the League Management Company to regularise its activities.
The LMC is the manager of the country’s elite league, the Glo Premier League, and Pinnick, who spoke on SuperSport on Monday, said the new administration would need to strengthen the company in order to raise the standard of the league.
Amaju said, “The LMC is doing a very good job at present and we will sit with them and take a look at their books to see the areas we can come in for the better of our football.
“The Nigerian League is growing and we will like to do more to increase the standard they have built. If we fail, then we have disappointed a lot of people.”
Amaju also hinted at the possibility of replacing coach Stephen Keshi with a foreign coach if the need arise.
“It is very possible that we could get a foreign coach but first we have to give Keshi a chance. He is a hero and we should treat him as such,” he said.
“He has won the Africa Cup of Nations both as a player and as a coach for Nigeria and we must regard him with respect.
“I very much support us having local coaches and I will encourage that. But if it happens that he can’t continue, then we may get a foreign coach.”
