#iPGN: Ibrahimovic sets retirement date

Swedish international superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced that he is to retire once his PSG contract is up in 2016.

“I have a contract until 2016,” he told ESPN when asked if he expected to finish his career at PSG. “I will be 34 next season and I don’t see myself continuing to play at the top level after that. So probably the answer is yes.”

The 32-year-old has often been labelled as one of the best strikers in the world and his trophy cabinet is full of top honours from Spain, Italy and France.

Despite his success in Europe, Premier League fans have always been wary of the Swede’s talents and his reputation as a leading striker has often been questioned.

The opportunity to see Ibrahimovic in England’s top flight week-in, week-out, however, has never become an option following Arsenal’s intentions to watch him play before potentially signing him 14 years ago.

In a career spanning 16 years since he made his professional debut as a 16-year-old, the PSG star has made a total of 582 appearances in all competitions, scoring 312 goals.
