The Bishop of Osun North-East Diocese of the Anglican Church, Rt. Rev. Abiodun Olaoye, has said that the Federal Government had not done enough to secure the release of the over 200 girls abducted by members of Boko Haram sect in Chibok, Borno State.
The Bishop stated this in a communiqué issued after the third session of the diocese’s second synod held at Saint Michael’s Anglican Church, Okua, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of the state.
The communiqué was made available to our correspondent on Friday in Osogbo.
While urging Nigerians to expose suspected criminals in their areas, the bishop also called on security agents to intensify efforts toward ensuring that peace return to every part of the country.
He said, “The three tiers of government should take the issue of security seriously. They should earmark substantial budgetary allocation to the security sector.
“The government has not put enough efforts in place to secure the release of the abducted girls.”
