#iPGN: Corporate Affairs Commission sacks 20 of its staff for alleged fraud

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has laid off about 20 of its staff for alleged fraud.

CAC Registrar General, Mahmud Bello while speaking at  a Public Private Dialogue meeting with Small and Medium scale Entrepreneurs in Enugu disclosed that the commission have sacked about 20 of its staff between  January and May this year for engaging in illegal registration of companies, ThisDay reports.

Bello also said the commission has developed a registration software that would easily facilitate online registration of businesses.

The software which is expected to be deployed by July next year will ensure that the commission’s service delivery is done in line with international best practices and by so doing checkmate the activities of fraudsters who capitalise on the rigorous registration process to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

He also noted that the federal government had taken several steps towards reducing hurdles associated with business registration and development.
